"Where are the adults?" Draft One (of a series)

Introduction: This is part one of a series of posts I will be making while I try to sort out my thoughts on issues of female agency and the unfortunate implications that can be drawn from those issues. Expect a large helping of opinion with very little sourced citations of fact at first. Later on I will go back and try to link what I can source and remove what I cannot defend. You can also expect some controversy here as I will not be pulling any punches or playing games. I will be asking questions and trying to answer them as best I can, but some of these questions are big ones, which I am asking because the answer beats the hell out of me…

I expect to offend a lot of people with this series….

Explaining the problem:

There is a sort of schizophrenia in the men’s movement regarding the perception of women that prevents us from going forward because we disagree on fundamentals and thus hamper each other and get in each other’s way.

Right now there is a general consensus that the current situation is unsustainable. Whether you’re a MRA, a pickup artist, or simply a MGTOW there is a growing perception that we have been living in a bubble—The Misandry Bubble—which has been become more and more unstable over the years. When that finally pops, Peak Feminism will have arrived and changes already taking place will pick up momentum quickly.

Like Peak Oil, from where the concept gets its inspiration it will not entirely be possible to know when this period has been reached until we have already entered into it and passed the event horizon. You can only see the evidence of the event in the aftermath by measuring the decline of one thing and the rise of another, which can take decades to really evaluate. Also like Peak Oil will be the confusion caused by those with something to lose or something to gain trying to disguise the evidence in either direction. The scariest thing about the concept is the possibility that we may already going through this now.

Why is this scary to me? Because it means that we’re already late and will only get further behind as we scramble to pull together some sort of response the the situation. Some of us in the Manosphere would like to see something better than simply hate and anger replace the current situation which is miserable enough already for everyone involved.

Equality:

The tendency to excuse female irresponsibility and pin the blame on “Feminism” or conspiratorial puppeteering “elites” creates a mental block preventing us from asking if true equality is even possible between the sexes?

The narrative sold to us at an early age is that of an oppressed gender—women—seeking a voice and equitable treatment equal to that of men. An epic tale of having to prove themselves against the best of what men had to offer—and win—amidst cat-calls, rape threats, and friendly fire from her own gender. How could anyone manage to not be affected by that? Simple, it’s not true.

What women say they want equality, but what they don’t tell you when they say this is that they mean equality of outcome, not equality of opportunity. This is why we have reduced standards for women seeking to join the military, become firemen or police officers. This is why countries like Norway and India have instituted gender quotas in business and government. Those are only the “positive” double standards, we haven’t even addressed the various social or criminal double standards yet!

For instance there’s the female sentencing discount. Of course since Britain is closing the women’s prisons and the official recommendation by the British government is to never send a woman to jail I’m not sure how much that matters any more. Not that this is a feminist only issue here—some of this is an issue of men in positions of authority and power choosing to give women a pass. Look at the recent case where the judge decided to remove the children from the father even though he admitted he knew the mother was making false allegations.

And as far as social issues go, where do we start? Or for that matter where do we stop! Take this article from 2010 about the gender skewing in most college campuses today. The focus is on the lack of dating options, not on the economic impact of women getting the scholarships over men due to gender quotas. Never mind that student debt gets passed on to men at marriage when her debt becomes “their” debt until the statistically likely divorce occurs—where it all becomes his debt.

No, the important thing is the lack of dating options! Okay….let’s talk about that.

What happens when there are less and less men earning more than women due to lack of collegiate experience and less men able to get hired at white collar jobs due to enforced gender quotas? So much for Hypergamy! Good luck trying to marry up when the few men who manage to make it into colleges and universities, stick it out through the indoctrination camps and graduate are passed over for less qualified female candidates due to quotas!

Accountability:

Which brings me to the biggest schism in the men’s movement: Responsibility. Who owns this mess?

Feminism relies on conspiracy theory to blame men via a grand complex structure called the patriarchy, which is so insidious no one can know whether or not it controls their thoughts or actions.

Some MRAs embrace a conspiracy theory of their own which has a handful of elites cheerfully masterminding and establishing Feminism to destroy the family and recreate a new modern serfdom by using the influx of women into the workplace to depress wages due to the sudden surplus of labor.

Both of these are interesting because they imply a complete lack of agency on the part of individual women involved. The blame for women’s actions and choices devolve to others, leaving them blameless and innocent. Under each of these theories women are infantilized and rationalized to be not capable of action on their own.

If I were an egalitarian I would find this notion to be repulsive and insulting! If feminism were truly about equality the notion that women were in need of constant handicaps and quotas and other discounts and disclaimers would unleash a scathing response. It doesn’t.

Why is that?

Could it be possible that women aren’t capable of making good choices? Did our ancestors know something we’ve forgotten or tossed out as superstition and the traditional family, the subordinate position of women in the past was that way to protect, not to oppress them?

I could link hundreds upon hundreds of articles about female rapists. Female teachers who molested students of both genders. Women who raped and sexually abused children they were baby-sitting. “Nymphomaniacs” who held men captive and raped them for days on end. Women who kidnapped, raped, and murdered other women, men, and children either by themselves or with a partner. We aren’t inherently good because we’re women. We are just as capable of evil as a man. I just linked ONE article to one of the most pure evil, infamous women of all time, who arguably got off way easier because of her gender. On a side note, there is a huge possibility her blog is a troll blog. Unfortunately, the opinions, whether fake or real, I have seen before. Male rape victims and female rapists being erased is an extremely real issue.

They say they want equality and when evidence proves that we are equal in ways they don’t like, they play the victim card, thus contradicting themselves.

These started popping up on campus late this week.

I understand that men of colour experience way more discrimination than the average white woman. However, I don’t think that is their frame of reference here.

I visited their site, and the title “Canadian Association for Equality” confuses me -if they are for equality, how come there aren’t any posts about people of colour, people with disabilities, trans people, queer people? I’m confused.

I’m not sure what they’re comparing the suicide rates for men aged 20-24 to though? It just says higher?

Higher than female suicides. Men, specifically young men (that 20-24 range) and old men (80+) are the highest risk group for suicides in the developed world.

And you can’t advocate for every single cause all at once, that’s both impossible and ineffectual. You’d spend so much time trying to touch on every little thing that you would get nothing done. Even then, if feminism is for ~equality~ then why don’t they help people of colour, people with disabilities, trans people, and the rest? You know, instead of their programmes only actually helping white women. instead of their complete ignoring of people with disabilities. Instead of running blogs like Twanzphobic where they say batshit things like “trans women just want to go to female-only prisons so they can rape the real women” and call trans men patriarchy sympathizers with internalized misogyny.

And yes. What about the men.

It’s called the progressive stack and it is one more example of misandry. Men can have their issues taken seriously only after everyone else gets their issues addressed.

Not because “misandry doesn’t exist” or any ridiculous notion like that, but because a lot of the people on here have to twist everything into “ZOMG I AM A WOMYN AND I AM OPPRESSED SO FUCK YOU MENZ” sort of statement.

And there is a wonderful post by a wonderful blogger…

I keep using the Misandry tag to prevent these types of grammar hijackings, intended to twist and dilute the word’s meaning and alter it into a mockery of the very phenomena it describes. If everyone would just keep doing that, eventually this attack on the meaning of the will fail and fall flat on its face. Everyone needs to step up though or they’ll steal this word from us.
